Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
     Clayton Jones is Chief Executive Officer of Jones and Bartlett Publishers, the seventh largest educational publishers in the United States. For the past twenty three years, he has provided the vision and leadership that has helped Jones and Bartlett become one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the publishing industry. He has built an organizational culture that is recognized worldwide for delivering innovative and high quality educational products and programs. Under his leadership, Jones and Bartlett has forged publishing partnerships with dozens of the worlds largest and most prestigious organizations including, American Heart Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Cancer Society, American Medical Association, American Dietetics Association and the American Geriatric Society. Mr. Jones has also founded one of the leading medical sites on the Internet, CancerSource.com. A vital and free information resource for the entire cancer community, CancerSource has received numerous awards including the prestigious Popular Science Best of the Web award. He serves on several boards including iKnowMed, a Berkeley, California based start-up healthcare company, HealthCare Testing, Inc. of Raleigh, North Carolina and Cyanide Poisoning Treatment Coalition of Falls Church, Virginia. Mr Jones is active in the community and coaches youth baseball, soccer and football. Mr. Jones is a graduate of Columbia University, holds an MBA from New York University and has attended Columbia University Graduate School of Business Executive Education programs.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)
     Don Jones, Jr. is the Chief Operating Officer of Jones and Bartlett. Mr. Jones manages the daily operations of the business including finance/accounting, customer service/fulfillment, warehousing and computer operations/interactive technology. He is also responsible for international sales and marketing. Prior to joining Jones and Bartlett in 1988 Mr. Jones spent several years in the computer industry. He is a graduate of the University of Denver.

President, Higher Education and Professional Publishing
     Robert Holland is President of Higher Education and Professional Publishing at Jones and Bartlett, providing leadership, direction and guidance to editorial, sales and marketing, and production and development functions within the company. His career spans twenty-five years in educational, professional and scholarly book and journal publishing, including broad experience generating organic growth and driving significant growth through acquisition of publishing assets and companies. Mr. Holland began his career in sales and editorial roles with Prentice Hall, now a Pearson company. Before joining Jones and Bartlett, he held a variety of editorial and management positions with Dutch publishing conglomerate Wolters Kluwer, where he last served as executive vice president and managing director of Kluwer Academic - Plenum Publishers. Immediately prior to joining Jones and Bartlett in 2001, Mr. Holland served as chief operating officer of Kanda Software, a company that provides custom publishing solutions for the web. Mr. Holland is a graduate of Lafayette College and is on the Board of Directors of Camp Agawam, a nonprofit summer camp for boys in Maine.

Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
     Jim Homer is the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, joining J&B in April, 2008. Prior to joining J&B, Jim was most recently the Senior Vice President of Pearson Learning Solutions, (a division of Pearson Education) overseeing all daily global operations for the group. Under Mr. Homer’s leadership, Pearson Learning Solutions became the primary provider of online curriculum development services and customized course materials in US higher education. He was also a driving force and played a significant role in Pearson’s transformational acquisition of LMS provider, eCollege. Mr. Homer’s background includes 15 years experience in business development, acquisitions, general management, sales, marketing, and product development for organizations such as Proctor & Gamble, MCI Communications, The Thomson Corporation, and Pearson Education. He holds a B.A. from American University and has attended Harvard University and Duke University Executive Education programs focused on leadership, finance, acquisition strategy, and marketing.

Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
     Ty Field is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Jones and Bartlett Publishers, joining Jones and Bartlett in 2008. He is responsible for all financial aspects of the company. In addition, Ty works closely with the senior management team to implement the strategic vision of the company. Prior to joining Jones and Bartlett, Ty worked for Thomson Higher Education for 16 years. He held several positions with the company, with the last being Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. While at Thomson Higher Education, Ty participated in many innovative strategic projects and led over twelve acquisitions and integrations. Ty holds a BA and MA in Finance from the University of Alabama.

Vice President of Manufacturing and Inventory Control
     Therese Connell is VP, Manufacturing & Inventory Control for Jones and Bartlett Publishers. Since joining the company in June 1998, she has been responsible for purchasing all print and multimedia product for the company, and maintaining inventory for front and backlist. Her contributions include consolidating print vendors and standardizing trim sizes and materials to achieve volume discounts. Prior to this, she spent time at Prentice Hall School Division as their Manufacturing Manager, coordinating between the Needham, MA and Upper Saddle River, NJ sites. Her career in book manufacturing started at Houghton Mifflin in the Trade & Reference division as a Manufacturing Buyer working on a product line of dictionaries, reference books and trade books. For four years previous, she coordinated the engineering documentation for building hardware for Thinking Machines, Inc. Ms. Connell earned her BA in English from the University of Connecticut, and studied at the City University of London in 1989.

Vice President of Sales and Marketing
     Bill Kane is Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In his extensive experience in the publishing industry, Mr. Kane has had executive responsibility for the development and sale of books, software, video, and web-based products for academic, retail, and corporate markets. At Jones and Bartlett he has assembled a highly motivated and effective sales organization delivering unique and comprehensive learning materials to school-based and continuing education markets. A graduate of Brown University, Mr. Kane serves on the Board of Directors of the Andover Fund for Education, providing grants to public school teachers for innovative curriculum projects.

Vice President of Design and Production
     Anne Spencer is VP of Design and Production. Anne has spent the last 7 years of a 15+ year publishing career with Jones and Bartlett, managing all aspects of the design and production of textbooks, and more recently the development of interactive learning tools, including CD-ROMs and distance-learning solutions. She started her publishing career at Ligature, an R&D group specializing in developing innovative learning tools for the ELHI market utilizing the latest technology. She continues to leverage technology to ensure the highest-quality products are delivered on the best platforms in the most effective manner. Additionally, she has focused on setting high standards for appropriate, meaningful design that aids in the delivery of content. As a result, Jones and Bartlett has been recognized by its peers for its superior design--holding several awards from the BookBuilders of Boston Guild. Anne holds a BA in European History from UMASS, Amherst; Certificate of Graphic Design from MassArt, Boston; and an M.Ed. in Instructional Design from UMASS, Boston.

Vice President of Technology
     James Walsh is the Vice President of Technology. Mr. Walsh joined Jones and Bartlett Publishers in 1998 in Sales, later becoming the Database Administrator. His contributions include building a state of the art Data Warehouse, as well as designing, building and maintaining mission critical applications for various departments. Mr. Walsh brings a unique perspective to Jones and Bartlett by way of an extensive retail Photography management and training background. Mr. Walsh holds a degree in Photography from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and one in Software Development from Daniel Webster College in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Vice President of Accounting
     Elvis Cabral is the Vice President of Accounting, As Vice President of Accounting, Elvis is responsible for financial statement preparation, analysis and projections. In addition, he oversees all of the accounting aspects of the Company’s operations including payables, royalties and accounts receivable. He continuously strives to improve the quality of the Company’s financial data as well as ensuring that effective cost controls are in place to maximize the Company’s fiscal performance. Prior to joining Jones and Bartlett, Elvis worked for eight years in public accounting. He eventually held a supervisory position at a regional public accounting firm, where he was responsible for the completion of audit engagements and tax returns. His client base included companies in the publishing, high technology and retail industries. Elvis is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a graduate of Nichols College where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a Specialization in Accounting and Economics.

Executive Vice President, JB Learning
     Dr. Larry Newell is the Executive Vice President of JB Learning, the technology and distance learning division of Jones and Bartlett Publishers. He has responsibility for the development and sale of web-based products, courses, and services across all subject areas. This includes an extensive line of emergency care and safety courses, webcasts and podcasts, test preparation programs for certification and licensure, mobile/PDA solutions, and our Learning Management System, JBCourse Manager. Before joining Jones and Bartlett in 1998, Larry was with Elsevier - Mosby Publishers, and worked as the Director of Program Development for Health Safety with the American Red Cross National Headquarters. Larry is a nationally registered paramedic, and an active instructor with several university teaching appointments. In addition, he is a popular speaker at many state and national public safety conferences. He completed his Bachelor of Sciences degree at the University of Pittsburgh, his Masters degree from Baylor University, and his doctorate from Texas A&M University.

Vice President of Business Development
     As Vice President of Business Development, Bob is responsible for driving revenue growth through both new and existing partnerships and other business opportunities, including the acquisition of complementary publishing programs and assets. Bob’s career spans 25 years of sales, marketing and business development experience with leading healthcare and consumer products companies. In his most recent role as Vice President, eCommerce & Business Development at Skyscape, Bob was responsible developing partnerships with leading healthcare publishers and medical associations that created the industry's broadest and most successful medical reference offering for mobile devices. Under his leadership, Skyscape implemented state-of-the art online strategies, technologies and best-practices that made Skyscape.com the leading online e-Commerce site for mobile healthcare content. Bob earned his BS in Marketing from Bentley College and MBA in International Business from Babson College.

Director of Human Resources
     As Human Resources Director since July of 2000, Kathy Precourt has helped to grow Jones and Bartlett Publishers by providing solid Human Resource services. Contributions include hiring a skilled, multi-talented base of enthusiastic employees, investigating and contracting a generous and fiscally sound package of benefits, securing a clear process for performance and compensation review, as well as general counsel on employee relations to ensure a positive work environment. Previous to Jones and Bartlett, Ms. Precourt has over 14 years experience in various Human Resource functions including staffing, employee relations, organization and management development, as well as general HR management. Additionally, during the past 9 years Ms. Precourt, has been appointed or elected to boards within the Town of Sudbury - Finance Committee, Town Government Reorganization Committee, Public School Committee.
